...fun & relaxing. I spent time with my boys, ages 2, 11 and 39. We enjoyed our leisurely days sleeping in, playing outside and playing with friends. Being an aspiring, (vegetarian) gourmet cook, I experimentd with different recipes and hosted a couple of parties, including a sushi party! I took a road trip to San Antonio with a friend, had minor hand surgery and painted the living room (with my other hand). One of the most memorable events of the summer was a juried art exhibition I participated in along with Mrs. Pascual from the 9th grade campus. My piece, entitled, "Anticipation" hung at the M2 Gallery in the heights from July 4-29. We celebrated at the opening reception on July 7th. I'm currently working on some other pieces for another exhibition to be held in the spring. I will definitely keep everyone posted. Explaination of pics: 1) sushi I made 2) my 2-yr-old loves "soosie!" 3) me and my friend at the "Light" exhibition opening; I'm standing in front of my piece. 4) My hubby and I are out with some friends. ^_^ The sushi looks so pretty! I love making sushi, but I could never get it to look so perfect!
(we did have a sushi party at my place, but the sushi-making had to share the spotlight with The Yellow Submarine.. x)
Well, my summer was fantastic... I had an art class at Glassell in Houston, which was fun... and my dad's new house is a lot closer to pretty much everywhere I needed to go this summer, so there was a lot of biking around. Major highlight of the summer: my camera works again! Also, I finished the christmas card that the Woodlands Performance Shop had requested, and got two stories of mine published online in Teen Ink's website, which was something I'd been meaning to do for a while but hadn't gotten around to. There was a lot of college research, and I feel I came to some good conclusions, and yeah... life is great! I'd love to be able to see your work sometime, Mrs. Rock! Displaying in a gallery sounds so exciting.. ^_^
